Hendrix, der bereits in jungen Jahren mit den Härten des Lebens konfrontiert wurde, entwickelte einen einzigartigen Sound, der die Grenzen der E-Gitarre neu definierte. Mit seiner Band "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" eroberte er Mitte der 1960er Jahre die britische Bluesszene im Sturm und wurde schnell zu einem der einflussreichsten Musiker des letzten Jahrhunderts. Seine Musik, die Genres wie Psychedelic Rock, Classic Rock, Acid Rock und Blues Rock umfasst, ist bis heute unvergessen. Hendrix starb am 18. September 1970 in London, hinterließ jedoch ein musikalisches Erbe, das die Rockmusik nachhaltig geprägt hat.
