    Sol Gabetta, geboren 1981 in Villa Maria, Argentinien, ist eine international renommierte Cellistin, die heute in der Schweiz, nahe Basel, lebt. Mit ihrem ausdrucksstarken und warmen Spiel hat sie sich einen Namen in der klassischen Musikwelt gemacht. Gabetta begann bereits in ihrer frühen Kindheit mit dem Cellospiel und studierte bei renommierten Lehrern wie Christine Waleska und Ljerko Spiller. Sie spielt ein wertvolles Cello von Matteo Goffriller aus dem Jahr 1730, das ihr vom Atelier Cels zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. Als Verfechterin neuer Cello-Literatur hat sie zahlreiche Uraufführungen, darunter ein Cellokonzert von Francisco Coll, gespielt.
